How Visualizations Are Created: From Green Screen to Cyber-Reality 🪐
Creating complex visual imagery for conceptual collections is a form of magic born at the intersection of high technology, photography, and precise calculation. 🔮 You don’t need to fly to the other side of the world to transport a model into a futuristic metropolis, deep space, or a mystical neon temple. 🌍 The entire process consists of three key stages.


🛠 Stage 1. Studio Photoshoot (Chroma Key / Green Screen)
Everything begins in the isolated space of a studio. 📸 Chroma key (usually a bright green or blue background) is used because these colors are absent from natural human skin tones and hair. This allows graphic software and AI to flawlessly “cut out” the model without damaging their contours. ✂ (If you need to use green in the outfit, for example, the screen should be blue, or vice versa).

Key technical rules for the shoot:
- Uniform background lighting: The green screen must be lit absolutely evenly. 💡 Any fabric wrinkles, deep shadows, or, conversely, overexposed areas will result in a poor key — the software simply won’t be able to cleanly remove such a background.
- Light geometry (Lighting setup): The lighting scheme on the model is set strictly to match the future composition. 📐 If neon signs or a magical glow will be positioned to the right and behind the model in the final artwork, that same contour must be lit in the real studio with a colored rim light (strip box) from the exact same angle.
- Using glossy surfaces: To avoid complex manual drawing of mirror reflections for feet and clothing hems, black or white glossy plastic is often laid on the studio floor. ✨ It catches real reflections, which are then perfectly transferred into the final composite.
- Background color taboos: There should be no shades close to the chroma key color in the model’s clothing, makeup, or accessories. 🚫 Otherwise, during processing, these details will “dissolve” and become transparent along with the background.

🏙 Stage 2. Creating an Unreal Background (Photoshop vs. AI)
While the team selects the best frames from the shoot, the environment is being created. 🖥 Today, content creators have two main paths: the classic way and the neural network way.
Option A. Classic Photoshop (Matte Painting)
The designer manually builds the background from dozens of real photographs. 🖼 For example, they take a photo of an evening city, add wet asphalt textures, and overlay neon signs and smoke on top. This method offers absolute control over every single detail but requires a lot of time. ⏳
Option B. AI Generation
Using a precise text prompt, a neural network creates a unique background of any scale in seconds. 🤖 This provides colossal speed and an infinite number of unique variations, but AI can make mistakes in geometry, so the image often requires manual touch-ups afterward. ✍


🧬 Stage 3. Final Composite and Retouching
The most critical stage, where the model and the generated or assembled background are merged into a single entity. 🔗 This is done in Photoshop utilizing modern AI tools.
Steps to a flawless image:
- Keying (Extraction): The green background is completely removed. ✂ Special attention is paid to complex areas — hair, semi-transparent fabrics, and fine details — to ensure no green fringe remains around them.
- Perspective and scale: The model is perfectly fitted into the geometry of the new background. 🗺 The horizon line on the model’s photo must strictly match the horizon line on the background; otherwise, the viewer will instantly notice something is off.
- Color grading (Color Match): The model is “painted” to match the colors of the environment. 🎨 If the background is made in dark mystical tones, those same deep, cold shades are applied to the model’s skin and clothing.
- Integration into the environment: To make the edit look real, the model is bound to the surroundings. 🌫 Soft shadows are added under the feet, reflections on the floor are integrated, fog or floating elements (like neon butterflies 🦋) are introduced in front of the model, and the background is slightly blurred to create depth of field.
